On the 4 October 2023 on my bicycle ride home a vehicle did very close pass striking my handlebars which very nearly knocked me off my bicycle, it was only by some miracle I managed to stay upright and wasn't hurt or killed. It was quite possibly deliberate with the following reasoning given below:

On Monday the 2 October 2023 two youths accosted me on the way home and said they needed an air pump to inflate a flat tyre. The tyre was not flat at all just a bit soft but they seemed more interested in my bicycle and any cameras I had on the bicycle.

On Wednesday the 4 October 2023 a vehicle did very close pass from the rear hitting my handlebars nearly knocking me off my bicycle, the vehicle did not stop. The location may have been chosen as it was a long downhill so I was travelling quite fast.

On Thursday evening the 5 October 2023 a vehicle came up behind me at traffic lights and when we both moved away the driver of the vehicle behind me shone a green laser at me. This could possibly be trying to establish if I had a rear facing camera.

On 14 November 2018 I was hit from the rear by a vehicle while travelling to work, the vehicle actually had to swerve onto the wrong side of the road in order to hit me.

A number of years ago my neighbour's ex-wife was killed in a hit and run when the motorcycle she was riding pillion on was hit by a vehicle from the rear.

This could be construed as the following, Monday to survey the bicycle for cameras then Wednesday was the attempted hit and run with Thursday's laser event being caused by the realisation that maybe the bicycle had a rear facing camera fitted.

It is quite possible that hitting people from the rear while they are riding on vulnerable vehicles such as bicycles and motorcycles is the modus operandi for psychopaths and narcissists. This enables them to try and make such a murder as an accident if they are caught and it fits in with their cowardly, fear driven existence.

N.B.

The moral to the above is to record and journal everything which seems strange, go with your gut feeling or intuition. If you ride a motorcycle or bicycle it is recommended you use a camera front and back or even a 360 camera for all round recording with decent sound recording. Also let people you trust know of your suspicions and of the various strange events so if something does happen to you it may just prompt them to take action on your suspicions and report them to someone who can investigate further. However, do not live in fear! Everything comes with consequences attached, what goes around comes around and evil has a way of self destructing in the end. Do not use evil against evil just keep true to yourself and keep your integrity and morals intact.

The information provided below is taken from How to end mobbing: A proven 10-step process by V. d. M., G. which is available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0868215WW/.

Mobbing in itself is not correlated to the personality of the target, but is a group dynamic that unfolds if unfortunate factors collide. This means: it’s NOT the target. It’s a situation and a group dynamic. It is a well known phenomenon that individuals who may behave decently when alone will often become quite insane and nasty when part of a mob were common sense and reason goes out of the window! This is why psychopaths and narcissists like to get a mob together as they get to control a large group of people to carry out their hateful agenda while appearing to not get their hands dirty or even be involved. Today's social media is an excellent tool for this and is used very effectively by toxic individuals to enable their stalking and mobbing activities.

A common enemy

A very powerful way to strengthen any group is to create a common enemy which is usually imaginary but will be someone or a grup of people easy to target. This is an everyday tactic used in politics to create followers and supporters; anything can be used for this but the obvious ones are political views, religion, foreigners, etc. This is used to make the "others" out as not being one of "us" and is very easily done; this is the us-and-them mentallity most human beings seem to enjoy and is used to create mobs, wars, terrorism and all the other insane and fanatical movements in the world. The "others" are then used as scapegoats for all the ills in the world or in the mobs lives. The greater the percieved threat from the "others" or "them" the stronger the groups' bonds become.

In a nutshell people get involved in mobbing because they want to belong to a group and to strengthen the group’s bonds. It doesn't matter how insane or nasty the groups' motives are as long as the mob members have a sense of belonging.

In theory mobbing is NOT personal. although it certainly feels VERY personal to the target(s). It is just a bunch of people trying to strengthen their group’s bonds. And it is an effective, very unfair and hurtful, method of doing so.

There are two main forms of mobbing which are:

Active mobbing:

Damaging personal property

Publicly ridiculing someone

Making jokes about someone

Calling someone names

Singing hurtful songs about someone

Violence including physical assaults

Hiding someone’s possessions

Spreading hurtful content in social media (comments, posts, etc.)

Killing pets

Etc.

Active mobbing is fairly easy to identify as it is so obvious, the other form of mobbing is passive mobbing which is much more insidious and covert.

Passive mobbing:

Spreading rumors

Ignoring someone

Excluding someone from activities (for instance, birthday parties, office drinks, digital chat groups)

Sabotaging someone in meetings, discussions, conversations (i.e. arguing against them systematically, trying to ridicule their opinions)

Withholding important information from someone

Etc.

There are different roles in the mobbing process and there can be one or several people per role.

The driver:

These people actively drive the mobbing situation forward.

The in-group members:

These people are usually close to the driver(s). Together with the driver, they form a closely-knit group, which can be of different sizes. The driver is often the “leader” of the in-group, but this is not always the case.

The initiator:

This is an interesting role! You might have thought that the driver initiated the mobbing, but in my experience, this is often not the case (although it can be). Usually, this person was at the “edge” of the in-group, but has moved closer into the group in the course of the mobbing. He or she profits the most from the mobbing situation, because they can strengthen their belonging to the in-group.

The bystanders:

These people know about the mobbing activities. They do not actively participate in the mobbing (or very seldomly), but also take no stance against it. They might even inwardly condemn the mobbing activities, but will not speak up due to fear of becoming a target themselves.

The neutrals:

These people are unaware of the mobbing process. The “victim(s)”: This is the person or group of people that is targeted by the mobbing activities.

The protector:

This role unfortunately doesn’t always exist. These are people actively trying to support the “victim” to fight the mobbing process, but often do not succeed because they are too far away (for instance, teachers, HR employees, personal coaches) and/or lack influence on the driver(s).

Mobbing can have many causes and reasons, with some examples in the following:

Forming the in-group:

A person was looking for a target to strengthen his own identity and belong to a group, and you were the “easy choice”, because

You were new to a group

You are different in terms of race, age, political views, weight, language, looks, style, disability, etc.

Personal gain:

A person or group feels threatened by you, because

You are more talented in a specific area (for instance, you have very good grades or performance reviews, you look more attractive, you are better at sports, etc.)

You want to initiate changes (for instance, introduce new ways of working)

You may receive a promotion ahead of someone else

Your boss or teacher likes you more

Etc.

Finding someone to blame:

A person or group experienced a stress situation and needed someone to blame, for instance

Fault for wrong business decision

Fault for lost sports event

Fault for unhappy customers

Etc.

Protecting group values:

You contradict an elemental group value, for instance

differing political views

You voice an opinion on the groups activities such as drug abuse, alcohol abuse, etc.

You are opposed to how the group does business

Venting due to personal issues:

The inititaor has deep personal issues and seeks outlets for his or her rage, low self-worth, depression, in order to avoid taking responsibility for their own issues.

Abusive parents/spouse

Unhappy marriage

Traumatic childhood

Unsuccessful career

Mobbing usually occurs in four stages.

Phase 1. Initiation stage

This is covert and may only be visible in retropect, the iniatiator starts the mobbing covertly and most people will not realise what is happening at this stage. The initiator lobbys the in-group and builds on their reaction to get the ball rolling.

Phase 2. Beginning

The mobbing now moves beyond the in-group and it is only now that the target starts to notice an affect. This is strengthened by the use of lies, slander, gossip and rumours.

Phase 3. Ramp-up

The mobbing becomes more frequent, direct and hurtful. More and more people join in with the mobbing.

Phase 4. Fully fledged

This is the final stage of mobbing. There are very few bystanders and no neutrals and the number of people involved in the mobbing has increased dramatically and has spread way beyond the initial social group due to gossip, social media, etc. People start competing with each other to see how nasty they can be, effectively trying to out nasty each other!

Personal note:

A very good individual example of mobbing is the village of Blaxton, South Yorkshire, where the mobbing was initiated by a couple of neighbours either for pay or because of some slander. It has now gone through all four stages of mobbing and the local people are now best avoided; there are very few bystanders any more and most people are involved in the mobbing. It should be noted that a lot of people who used to come to the village to walk their dogs and visit the village now tend to stay away and other members of the village who knew what was going on have moved away because the village was becoming so toxic. This situation has been created by a few families and has successfully poisoned the whole village and even a few police officers have been corrupted!

The mobbing process is now totally out of control as most of the village is part of the mob or wants to be; if there is such a thing it is a fairly successful mobbing. It has managed to corrupt a whole community there a very few people with integrity or decent reputations left as their whole campaign is built on slander and lies.

How can it work when a whole section of a community turns on an individual to try and murder them by proxy, make no mistake, that is what the abuse is working towards.

Bullying to most people brings up to most people images of the bullying they experienced at school, modern bullying with the aid of social media is far more vicious than that; it is a process aimed at the pushing of the selected target to suicide which in the case of bullying is murder by proxy.

The police respond to many setups and incidents by blaming the target and supporting the perpetrators; in many cases the targets of abuse have been cautioned, fined or even imprisoned when approaching the police for help. In this way the target is effectively isolated from any support system and in many cases they are pushed to self destruct which is why mobbing is a very effective tool for anyone with an axe to grind. Apparently there is no shortage of people willing to join in a mobbing campaign for all sorts of reasons especially in this modern age were empathy and understanding is regarded as a weakness.

It is easy to tell if you are a bully or abuser if you:

Gossip about other people, passing on information not knowing if it is true or not and not even caring.

You partake in kind of setups for any reason, there is no justification for any maunufactured incident.

You participate knowingly or unknowingly in a smear campaign, see gossiping above.

You track someone's movements and monitor their property.

You vandalise other people's property or attack their pets.

You take part in street theatre, pretending mock offense or deliberately over react ot any incident.

You are part of a mob demonising one individual in the community just because other people say they should, the reasons are most likely fabricated.

You feel like you have to carry out actions you know are wrong just be part of the "in crowd".

It is easy to tell if you are dealing with a bully or abuser if they:

Gossip about other people or pass on
derogatory
information about other people.

My wife telephoned and said our dog had nipped a post woman's coat.

Police turned up in the evening and now it is advised that the dog now wears a muzzle when out in public.

Apparently my wife had passed the post woman the first time and the dog was fine and just walked by. However, further along the post woman suddenly turned up behind my wife, catching her out, and the dog jumped up and nipped her coat. The post woman then said you’re the woman from such and such a house and telephoned the police. The post woman would have had to really rush to turn up where and when she did!

This would seem to have all the hallmarks of a psychopathic setup, the postal workers have had it in for the dog ever since we got him in just the the same way as they had it in for my previous dog before he was killed. Then the police true to form act as facilitators for the abuse, it is quite possible the ongoing abuse was originally instigated by the police considering the lies I have been told by the police in the past regarding other incidents may indicate this.

The moral here is if youy are being mobbed try and protect yourself and pets when out in public. The mob will take every opportunity to cause trouble. All you can do is try to minimise those opportunities.

It is interesting that a Cheshire police chief has launched a campaign against the epidemic of bullying and wants to tackle the bullying of children and adults. The article can be viewed here. (https://www.cheshire-live.co.uk/news/cheshire-police-chief-launches-campaign-16472689)

I doubt it will get very far as too much abuse is facilitated and accentuated by individual members of the police. In far too many cases abuse victims have either commited suicide or have been murdered after contacting the police. Some targets of abuse have been cautioned, fined or even imprisoned by the police when trying to reach out for help with their dire predicament; feeling they have no one to turn to they feel there is no other option but suicide or the perpetrator gets impatienbt and decides to kill the target themselves. Forums, blogs and other literature which is aimed at supporting targets of abuse often say to be very careful when approaching the police for help. In my case the mobbing started in earnest after trying to reach out to the police for help.

Narcissistic mob and scapegoating in Blaxton

Narcissism often focuses on the individual but this is narrow minded there are often people who are targeted by groups of narcissists often led by a narcissistic pack leader. The group may be made up of narcissists or a mixture of narcissists and toxic enablers. The group members will have their own flying monkeys they can recruit into the mobbing campaign which they can use to promote smear campaigns using gossip, slander and lies to further their toxic agenda. The purpose of the targeted individual is to be used as a scapegoat for all the mobs toxic activities and shortcomings.

This is something I have been made aware of for some years now and it has the village of Blaxton in a stranglehold which it seems unable to shake off. There is a fairly large group of toxic individuals making the village appear a lot more antisocial than it actually is but no one in the know has the courage to speak up and break the cycle. In fact some people who knew about the mobbing campaign effectively appear to have escaped and moved away from the village rather than participate in it.

The sociopathic or narcissistic pack leader will be having a good laugh at everyone in the village who have turned bad due to their manipulations, it is what they live for. Some of the people who have turned extremely toxic will not realise how bad they have become while most really will not care as it adds some drama to their lives. The grouo may not even know who the real leader is due to the way social media can be used with fake profiles, etc. The instigator probably does not even live in the area they have targeted and will present themselves as decent, friendly people while in reality they are evil personified; this enables them to live in a decent community while producing a toxic community far removed from them.

A good paragraph from the link below is provided below:

Therapist Christine Hammond (2017) writes that:

“The purpose of a scapegoat is to pass responsibility onto someone else. Usually this person is unsuspecting at first and agrees because they are trying to get along with others. This technique of passing the buck is very common with narcissists, sociopaths, and addicts. Narcissists can’t allow their ego to be tarnished by an error. Sociopaths do it for the sport of it.”

An article which covers this topic can be viewed at The Narcissistic Conspiracy: Scapegoating, Smear Campaigns And Black Sheep – How Narcissistic Groups Bully Their Chosen Victims by Shahida Arabi (Updated October 5, 2018)

https://thoughtcatalog.com/shahida-arabi/2018/03/the-narcissistic-conspiracy-scapegoating-smear-campaigns-and-black-sheep-how-narcissistic-groups-bully-their-chosen-victims/.

Targeted individuals who have turned to the authorities for help have often found it to be at most unhelpful and in some cases have made the abuse much, much worse.

DARVO strategically delays or defeats justice and prolongs the stress of the target, giving the perpetrator maximum opportunity to destroy him or her. By exposing this particularly malicious, evil tactic it is hoped that targets, supporters and other individuals can learn how to break the cycle of stalking attacks, and shorten or curtail the targets exposure to this intense form of abuse. No target should ever be left to tackle a stalker alone but it is usual for the target to be isolated and demonised by their abusers so have no choice in the matter.

How Stalking Works

Stalkers are sneak attackers, expert in causing mental pain in ways that only the target, or someone with rare empathy can recognise. They often exploit some unique personal characteristics or perceived failures on the part of the target in the attack. Slander, lies, half truths and faked evidence are used to attack and hurt the target as much as possible often in a way were others would not be hurt. This often makes it very difficult for others to understand.

Perpetrators enjoy unwanted contact with their targets often through third parties who are more than happy to join in the stalking campaign. It helps to control and sadistically destroy their target. This is achieved by using the victims emotions as a weapon to de-stabilise them and may eventually invoke mental illness; think of many of the mass shootings which regularly occur in the Unites States of America. As a last resort the perpetrator may employ violence if they cannot achieve what they want emotionally. If the perpetrator cannot control the target they will try to control everyone around the target, most people being willing participants in this control!

Unwanted Contact and Intrusions

In stalking or abuse, contact incidents are extremely unpleasant for the target, being designed to engage him or her and the stalker or a third party being utilised by the stalker in a conflict situation. How the target handles the manufactured conflict will decide the outcome for them.

Normally when a conflict occurs it results in an outcome which can easily be forgotten and both parties move on. The target who exposes any attractive characteristics to a psychopath to narcissist or who does not handle conflict well is eventually drawn into a destructive relationship. As the perpetrators intention is to destroy or eliminate the target, and overt violence is risky and illegal, the conflict is carried out by attacking any emotional weaknesses in the target to cause stress.

Witnesses are nearly always present during an attack to serve a number of purposes such as to show the target is unstable, violent, etc. The target must always remember all conflicts and incidents are manufactured in order to try and make them look bad. There are a great many individuals who are willing to act as witnesses and instigators of attacks and are easily recruited using social media. Over time the effect of a huge number of incidents can damage the targets’ self confidence, reputation and can totally isolate the target as most people they know become totally untrustworthy. Social media has an awful lot to answer for!

As a loyal, law abiding citizen, the target only wants to go about his own business and maintain his reputation as an honest member of the community but this may become impossible.

The individuals living around a stalker or pathological narcissist tend to live in fear, and when they see what is happening they tend to gratify the perpetrators behaviour or turn their back on the target, both acts encourage the perpetrator. Selected targets often find it difficult to provide an appropriate response and will often go through stress, anxiety and a condition called hyper-vigilance which will cause the target to isolate themselves and avoid members of the community who present themselves to be a threat. The threat may just be an individual continually turning up when the target is out and about or people saying inappropriate things at just the wrong time; most people will appear to be troublemakers who are in league with the perpetrator and obviously some will be.

Mediation and face to face meetings between the target and offender will not work as the perpetrator will use these techniques to paint the target in a bad light. The perpetrators aim is to keep their own name clear by avoiding being caught, and demonise or label the victim. To the target the perpetrator is an abuser and to anybody else they appear to be a truly great neighbour.

How DARVO works

Denial

When a victim begins to relate the impact of the perpetrators behaviour, during any resulting confrontation between the victim or a third party supporter, the stalker denies any offence or meaning, caused by his or her actions. Feigning apology may lull the situation. A tissue of lies and half-truths will be used to support this. Due to the credibility of the stalker and his or her excuses, denial serves the purpose of asserting their preferred version of events.

Attack

To embed this view, a diversionary or counter attack can also be mounted. This has the aim of discrediting the victim, commonly shifting the focus onto some offensive action purported to have been committed by them. A fictitious event or some minor misdemeanour or performance issue blown out of proportion will suffice. This gives false reason and motive to the real offenders action and diverts the spotlight away from the original (victims) complaint. Such attacks often involve a “characteristic” of the victim, for example one very effective tool is to claim the victim is ill or unfit, (even though this is due to the stalkers action). Labels are used to stigmatise the victim with mental health or performance problems, incompetence or a fictitious criminal record.

Reverse Role of Victim/Offender.

The perpetrators aim is to portray the victim as being responsible for the offence. “Because you did this, I did that”. A fantasy version of “events” puts the victim in the position of wronging the perpetrator or other parties involved.

The aim is for the perpetrator to get the support of the local community surrounding the victim as well as that of the investigator and eventually the victims friends and family.

If successful:

The victim is further isolated, while the stalkers behaviour remains unchallenged or they gain status.

Investigators will shift their judgement to the target and lose the will to act against the perpetrator.
Another version of this occurs in workplaces when HR investigators on the organisations payroll begin to act for the perpetrator.

Gaining Advantage – The Perpetrator

Stalkers are obsessive and therefore convinced in their right to pursue a course of action in what is often a fantasy or delusional situation involving a target. In one mode, he or she has well developed powers of persuasion and charm. Also they may have, or think they have rank, status and power in the community, (or organisation) above the victim. If not they may attempt to cultivate a relationship and get support from somebody who has the muscle, rank and status, which can then be used to carry out attacks by proxy. This may be a higher value boss, a council official or a police officer etc. The more senior the better.

He or she may vent victimising others when they don’t conform to expectations, or escalate until he finds people who he can suck into the situation, to pull rank, causing a break in the process or a diversion.

Perverting the Course of Justice

By gaining the support of the investigator(s), further advantages are given to the perpetrator, enabled by the action or failure to act of investigators and the victim. These actions or in-actions make it much less likely the target will obtain justice. A short list of actions and outcomes from the targets' experiences follows:

Target. Avoidance of the perpetrator(s). Due to the obsessive nature of this offence the perpetrator will re-engineer contact often using third parties.

Target. Denial shutting off from what just happened at the end of an incident under the assumption it is over and the perpetrator won’t return. This leaves the target exposed to further attacks.

Target. Misunderstanding the role of the perpetrator, blaming themselves or being blamed by others.

Target. Following bad advice to do any of the above.

Target\Police. Taking no action to prevent further attacks. Police (or investigators) fail to use powers or invoke laws or policy and may even side with the perpetrator. Target fails to learn lessons or take preventative measures to stop repeat incidents. The target will have lost friends and family, will have often suffered mobbing at work and in the community so finding themselves in an extremely evil scenario which they could never have envisioned unless they were pathological in some way.
Serial fantasist who stalked and terrorised ex pal caged for three-year hate campaign

The following article shows the type of hate and smear campaign waged against me is more common then most people realise, the only surprising thing is the amount of people who leap at the chance to get involved with such a campaign. The sheriff called the perpetrator a fantasist, in reality she is most likely a psychopath who is not capable of remorse and will only regret being caught after 3 terrible years for the targets of her abuse; the only reason for her campaign will be for her own enjoyment not for revenge or any other reason. In my case the abuse has gone on for much longer!

I would think the tools for the campaign used against me are similar such as fake social media profiles, pictures and ridiculous stories. Most people seem to ignore the fact that most of the information on the internet and social media is false and is there for manipulation purposes. It also demonstrates how one stalker can blight several lives and the article will only show the people they know about, there are probably hundreds of people who she has affected who are not lucky enough to obtain any form of justice.

I wonder how she got caught, it would appear to be because of the media coverage rather than any police investigation. The impression I have always been given is the police tend to side with the abuser in these kind of cases often becoming part of the problem for the target of abuse rather than any help.

Article taken from the Daily Record 17/07/2019.

The article can be viewed at https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/wicked-fantasist-who-stalked-terrorised-18326156?utm_source=sharebar&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=sharebar

Serial fantasist who stalked and terrorised ex pal caged for three-year hate campaign

Jill Sharp has been sentenced to 12 months for waging a twisted campaign of hate against Margaret and Steven Paton.

By Alan McEwen 04:30, 17 JUL 2019

Jill Sharp waged a twisted campaign of hate against Margaret and Steven Paton (Image: Daily Record)

A fantasist was jailed yesterday for stalking and terrorising a former friend as a sheriff branded her actions “disgraceful and wicked”.

Jill Sharp wept in the dock after being sentenced to 12 months for waging a twisted campaign of hate against the pal and her partner.

Sharp created fake online profiles as she carried out a sinister plot to torment Margaret and Steven Paton over a three-year period.

She sent emails to the couple’s workplaces with false claims that they were involved in criminal activity, including dealing drugs to kids. Sentencing her yesterday, Sheriff Douglas Kinloch said Sharp “succeeded” in ruining the Patons’ lives, leaving them on medication and unable to work for lengthy periods.

The sheriff said he’d considered calling for a psychiatric assessment of Sharp in a bid to shed light on her behaviour but he didn’t believe such a report could explain her “deliberate and malicious” crimes which showed a “high degree of planning”. She admitted causing fear and alarm to Margaret and Steven between January 2014 and August 2017.

Yesterday’s hearing had been set aside for a legal debate after Sharp tried to withdraw her guilty plea in May. The court was told that bid to change her plea was not going ahead so the sheriff moved to sentencing. Sheriff Kinloch said: “This was a disgraceful and wicked attempt to ruin the lives of two people who had previously been your friends. “For more than three years you conducted a campaign in a calculated and deliberate attempt to ruin their lives. In this aim you succeeded.” He said “probably the most serious part” of her offending was emails sent to the Patons’ employers to demand they were sacked. The sheriff said their victims suffered “very serious distress”, and were prescribed medication for stress and depression. The court heard Sharp had a university degree and good employment history. Sheriff Kinloch added: “I can’t begin to understand why your mind was working in such a way that you acted as you did, though you confessed to police your motivation was revenge.

Jill Sharp is led away by police after being arrested in 2017 (Image: Steve Welsh 2017)

“You still have no real understanding of the affect on your victims.” Along with the 12-month term, he gave first offender Sharp a five-year non-harassment order banning her from contacting, or seeking to contact, the Patons. We previously told how Margaret met Sharp met through a shared love of Rangers FC. They began chatting about football on Twitter and began meeting for games at Ibrox. But the friendship took a sinister turn after Margaret and Steven got engaged. Sharp used social media accounts and emailed addresses which concealed her identity to contact Margaret, Steven and other people connected to them at their workplaces. She visited Margaret’s work at Sky TV in Livingston and sent her colleagues emails. These messages contained malicious and threatening remarks, and allegations that she and Steven were involved in crime. She sent further emails to Steven’s work at a housing association, with more threatening remarks and allegations he was a criminal.

She sent letters to his colleague containing more abuse and made-up allegations of criminal behaviour. The influx of weird messages began to affect her health and she confronted Sharp. Margaret previously recalled: “I said I wasn’t happy and told her I didn’t want to hear any more of these messages. “Instead of backing off, she went on a Twitter rampage, telling people I was depressed and not right in the head.”

She added: “She sent me four voicemails that went beyond what had gone before. It was bigoted stuff that decent Rangers fans wouldn’t condone.” At court, Iain Smith, defending, said his client sought “revenge” because the Patons blamed them for the story about her invented relationship. He said: “She takes no pleasure in what she did. She regrets it.”

The Record's story that exposed Jill Sharp (Image: Daily Record)

Books

The following paragraphs have been taken from the book Mobbed!: What to Do When They Really Are Out to Get You by Janice Harper. (Backdoor Press)

The book is available at https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01HK41KQG/

Mobbing is bullying run amuck and it is cruel and inhumane. But as I show in these pages, it is also human. And because it is human, it cannot be stopped. But it can be better understood, and if it is better understood, it is my hope that fewer people will get caught up in it when one of their coworkers or a member of their group is targeted. It is my hope that everyone who reads this book will think twice before gossiping about someone who is under attack, will think twice about shunning them, and will think twice about attacking them even further.

Mobbing targets don’t need any more attacks; they need help.

The remedy all too often recommended: bullies should be branded, exiled, sued and publicly shamed. But is that so bad? Let’s face it, if you are the target of someone’s irrational aggression, whether at work, school or in your community, that sentiment is exactly what you want to hear. Because to have someone come after you can be a devastating experience. It can and does demoralize people, reduce them to tears, make them feel like crap, destroy their reputation, and even drive some to suicide, if not homicide.

Given all that, what’s wrong with going after bullies? What’s wrong is this: trite as it sounds, you can’t change anyone else’s behavior; you can only change your own. And there’s another reason, maybe even more important: bullying snowballs into mobbing very quickly. Once it does, the people who will do you the most harm won’t be “the bullies.” They will be your friends and coworkers. And how is it going to sound if you alone point to half the workforce and say they’re all bullies? You’ll sound crazy.

What’s happening when a whole bunch of people turn on you is called mobbing. Mobbing is group bullying run amuck where you are shunned, sabotaged, and put through the system with a series of bad reviews, passed opportunities, warnings, gossip and accusations that often lead to investigations and inquisitions that can ultimately destroy your career.

Mobbing is group aggression, and it is distinct from bullying because the people who engage in it include not only “bullies,” but once supportive, friendly, non-aggressive people who have suddenly been encouraged to see you as a threat.

When that happens, the person who is ultimately driven out will not necessarily be the most aggressive or abusive. The person who will be branded, exiled and publicly shamed as “the problem” and maybe even as “the bully” is always the person who has the least amount of power. And that person could very well be you, if someone’s out to get you.

This book is available at https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01HK41KQG/

Further to the above I wonder how you cope with the killing of innocent pets if you are not narcissistic/psychopathic, surely it would be difficult to salve your conscience especially if you are supposedly an animal lover or a veterinary surgeon/nurse. Personally I would hate to have something like this on my conscience and yes, I am fortunate to have a conscience with normal feelings. The killing of innocent pets is taking hate, spite and evil too far and can only do much to damage the perpetrators of such atrocities event they are not capable of realising this.

It would appear in the case of most "normal" people it is a case of bad people just waiting for an opportunity to reveal themselves.

The feedback from victims is that, all too often, they feel they are being persistently targeted by their perpetrators, and yet ignored by those with the power to prevent and intervene. For many victims, their experience can be like living a nightmare.”

Antisocial behaviour (ASB) is a blanket term for conduct that can cause harassment, alarm or distress. Examples listed on the police.uk website include vandalism, street drinking, prostitution-related activity, misuse of fireworks, and nuisance, rowdy or inconsiderate neighbours.

Produced in partnership with the charity ASB Help and Nottingham Trent University, the report:

• Cites analysis suggesting street drinking or drunken behaviour is the most common form of ASB experienced or witnessed, followed by groups hanging around.

• Has found that a mechanism known as the community trigger – introduced to act as a safety net for ASB victims – is largely unknown, even among those working in frontline agencies;

• Says victims are passed from one agency to another, face lengthy delays when calling the 101 police non-emergency number, and often feel the needs of perpetrators are given more weight than their own;

• And warns that the cumulative effect of antisocial behaviour is often not taken into account, resulting in authorities failing to appreciate the scale of the impact on those affected.

The assessment says antisocial behaviour can cause immense distress and suffering, affecting victims’ health, sleep, work and relationships, and leaving them feeling unsafe at home.

In one case cited in the report, a woman is said to have been subjected to “two years of hell” by a neighbour. She said: “Even now, I can’t relax at all, I can’t rest in that house. It’s going to take many, many months, I think. I mean, the stress has been phenomenal.”

Calling for systemic change, Lady Newlove said she found it “infuriating” to hear antisocial behaviour referred to as low-level crime.

“That description illustrates very neatly how ASB is often treated as a series of isolated incidents, rather than taking into account the cumulative effect that it has on its victims,” she said.

Setting out her blueprint for improving the response, the commissioner called for those repeatedly affected by anti-social behaviour to be given the same entitlement to support as victims of other crimes. She also recommended a review of the 101 phone line to ensure it was “fit for purpose”.

The Crime Survey for England and Wales estimated that 37% of adult respondents experienced or witnessed antisocial behaviour in their local area last year – the highest proportion since data collection started in 2011-12.

Separate figures show about 1.4m incidents of antisocial behaviour were recorded by police in 2018, a 16% fall on the previous 12 months.

A Local Government Association spokesman said: “Councils know people look to them to tackle the antisocial behaviour which can make a law-abiding resident’s life hell or blight an entire neighbourhood.

“It’s a role they take extremely seriously but one which is being made increasingly challenging as a result of losing 60p out of every £1 they had from government to spend on services in the past decade.”

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor, The national police lead for antisocial behaviour, said: “We are working with local authorities and other agencies to effectively combat ASB and empower victims and communities.”

He added that further long-term funding was needed as forces were “under increasing strain as they deal with rising crime, demand that is more complex and a raised terror threat with fewer officers”.

A government spokesman said it was “committed to tackling antisocial behaviour and ensuring victims get the response they deserve”.

He added: “That is why we reformed powers available to the police, local authorities and others to tackle antisocial behaviour and continue to keep them under review.”

It should be noted that this is the tip of the iceberg people targeted by abusers often find the very people who should help and support them actively side with the abuser which often leads to community mobbing and escalation of the abuse. In a large number of cases this leads to the target taking their own life as they feel they have no one to turn to for aid; unfortunately they are often quite correct. Support groups such as the Samaritans and 12 step organisation cannot and will not help with this, what is needed is for organisations with people who have been targeted for abuse but have recovered, these people know what they are talking about are not just theorising. It is of little use to targets of abuse hearing the same old rhetoric after yet another death such as:

“Lessons have been learned”

“Procedures are being reviewed”

“We have lost the evidence”

“To serve and protect”

etc, etc, etc

The trend of victim blaming needs to stop as this is leading to the destruction of too many lives, the authorities seem to bend over backwards to protect the criminal fraternity while treating hard working, law abiding citizens with contempt. This is ridiculous and is eroding respect for the police and authorities which is demonstrated on a daily basis.

We have probably passed the tipping point for the earth's natural world and natural resources and we have uncontrolled population growth. In nature populations are controlled by lack of resources such as food and predators, the only predators humans have are other humans. There does not appear to be any long term plan for the human species and even though more and more humans are becoming aware of the impending ecological disaster no one really knows what to do about it, so we blunder on regardless, expending resources as if there is no tomorrow (maybe there isn't one for humans if nothing changes!).

Even without climate change and all the other impending disasters there will come a time were we will be unable to supply ourselves with food and water unless there is some dramatic change to the human approach to life and other living things. As the supposedly most intelligent species on this planet it is surely our collective responsibility to look after it and all it's inhabitants and over rule our natural instincts of self interest and greed. After all it is our own future generations which are going to reap the whirlwind if nothing is done.

Readers may wonder why the above few paragraphs are relevant to a web site on narcissistic abuse, bullying and mobbing; it is extremely relevant; the way nations are controlled is bullying and narcissistic control on a much larger scale. Narcissists often lead their followers down the path of mutual self destruction, it would appear our national leaders are following the same path. As always the silent majority, the bystanders who leave action to someone else and hope for change, will sit back and wait until it is far too late which will probably assure their own mutual destruction.

As a fellow human being the author fully aware of their own weaknesses and shortcomings being just as guilty of playing a part in the human route to self destruction owning consumer goods, a home, etc. However, the author is also aware that if the human race is to survive it must change for the good of the whole planet, short term gains and agendas are no longer viable in the modern era, long term goals are necessary possibly spanning hundreds, if not thousands, of years.

The two articles listed below are about two unfortunate women who were stalked and ultimately murdered by their stalkers demonstrates the very poor attitude of the police to individuals targeted by stalkers. The articles can be viewed at:

https://www.mobbed.uk/blog/?alice-ruggles--police-and-army--failed--stalking-victim

https://www.mobbed.uk/blog/?shana-grice--disciplinary-action-for-sussex-police-officers

These articles reflect the author's personal experience of reporting abuse and harassment to the police.

Common points are:

The author being made to feel like some sort of criminal.

Police behaving in an offhand and dishonest way to undermine the targeted individual.

Police acting in an aggressive and bullying manner which leaves the targeted individual even more isolated.

Police seem to side with the abuser(s) not with the targeted individual. The police are unlikely to help and in fact may make matters much worse, the targeted individual need to look to themselves in order to combat the abuse. The targeted individual should assume the stalking and/or mobbing has the aim of their murder and should behave accordingly by taking as many precautions as possible while not relying on the authorities for help.

All police forces have statements about approaching them if you are stalked but actions speak louder than words with case after case of failed victims piling up at their doors. The only positive thing about all the reports of failed stalking victims is the publicity and the raising of public awareness to the scourge that is stalking and mobbing.

The review found police should have made that decision and it should not have been left to the victim.

The review noted that a police officer did contact Dhillon's barracks in Edinburgh and spoke to a superior, but not Military Police or Police Scotland, and Dhillon was then told by the regiment to stop contacting her or face arrest.

Trimaan Dhillon ignored the warning and eventually drove 120 miles to Tyneside to murder Miss Ruggles.

The report concluded: "The perpetrator's willingness to travel provided an indication of the level of his obsessive behaviour that was overlooked.

"In addition, there was a lack of clarity about the roles and responsibilities of the Home Office, police and armed forces, which led to some confusion about how best to deal with the perpetrator."

The review made 20 recommendations, including making it an offence to threaten to release intimate photos of an ex-partner, as Dhillon did when Miss Ruggles called off their relationship.

It also urged the Home Office to review the effectiveness of the police 101 non-emergency number, after it emerged Miss Ruggles abandoned a call to Northumbria Police after being kept on hold for almost seven minutes.

The review described the incident as a "missed opportunity to support Alice".

Last year the the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said two Northumbria officers had cases of misconduct to answer while another had performed unsatisfactorily.

It also found the force treated the matter as harassment rather than stalking. The force has since apologised to Miss Ruggles' parents, Sue Hill and Clive Ruggles.

The review also called on the Home Office to review the legality of spyware after concerns about the ease in which Dhillon was able to hack Miss Ruggles' social media accounts.

Responding to the report, Ms Hill and Mr Ruggles said: "Alice died in tragic circumstances and it is important that failings are acknowledged, lessons learned, and improvements made.

"We hope that the Army will now realise that they have an important part to play when one of their soldiers is accused of criminal behaviour against a civilian and, like other agencies, will proceed to learn lessons from Alice's case."

Brigadier Christopher Coles, head of Army personnel services group, said: "We are committed to tacking domestic abuse and last year launched a strategy to help prevent domestic abuse in all its forms.

"This includes prevention of abuse in the home and providing support to the families of service personnel who may be affected."

Northumbria Police's assistant chief constable Rachel Bacon said: "With the help of Alice's family we are now leading the way in training officers in the best way to deal with these types of offences.

"Their continued determination to change the law to better protect victims of stalking is commendable."

Richard Holly seems to be a down to earth individual with a good idea of what community mobbing is about which is the turning of a community against an individuakl by a sociopath or sociopaths with the intention of harassing the individual to death if possible. He has a YouTube presence at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCy13PfBZp3nEV19sjPiVZ-Q/.

An interesting comment he has made is about "Voice to Skull" (v2k) which is when targeted people supposedly hear voices or noises while no one else around them does. This can be easily done using commercially available products which use highly directional sound waves which are commonly used by art galleries and museums for certain exhibits. His article can be viewed on YouTube at https://youtu.be/j5Z4KVbgVdQ. An example of this would be the person standing directly in front of an exhibit in an art gallery is able to hear the narration about the exhibit but other individuals on either side of the exhibit do not hear anything.

An example of mobbing can be clearly seen in this YouTube video which can be viewed at https://youtu.be/agpp5ZBvCxw.

It is interesting that so many people seem to be perfectly happy to be pawns in a mobbing campaign and in the process give up their integrity and self esteem to any old sociopath who has no regard for them whatsoever. Sad but true.

It destroys individuals, wrecks families, devastates lives and livelihoods, and costs both employers and the State dear. It does not toughen people up, instead it weakens, disempowers and destroys. It does not aid survival, instead threatens our existence. It does not promote long-term growth and prosperity, but favours short-term expediency at the expense of the long term. And, as with other forms of violation and trespass, only those who have suffered it fully appreciate the sheer awfulness of daily unremitting abuse that has no answer, no reason, no value and no end. In the last decade of the twentieth century, workplace bullying is, in my view, the second greatest social evil after child abuse, with which there are many parallels.

The book is available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0952912104/.

While a number of publications refer to children being bullied, or workplace bullying, very little addresses the little known area of Adult Bullies and Mobbing. More information on Social Media can be viewed here.

Sound, effective strategies are offered to recover from the painful experience of being mobbed by a group. This book provides an excellent overview and understanding of how someone can be bullied, mobbed and ostracized, while the bullies remains anonymous. It also covers the devastating effects of Mobbing, which can lead to rapid declining mental and physical health, and ultimately suicide.

The influence of the bully over the group is highlighted by comparisons and examples of pack behavior. Knowing there are options, and that others have experienced bullying and mobbing, and have survived, can bring comfort to someone who is currently experiencing mobbing. Mobbing is abusive, destructive, aggressive and completely overlooked, while the victims languish in silence. This book includes the very personal experiences of the author who suffered with the shame and despair of a social mobbing, affecting every area of her life, right up to the point of attempting suicide.

Mobbing needs to be recognized as a criminal offense. There is a need for the public to wake up to the immense damage and very ignored aspect of mobbing as pertaining to modern society, acknowledging the victims and holding the perpetrators accountable.

Misleading and damaging information can be transmitted through Social Media and mobbing needs to be perceived as a criminal offence. There is a need to wake up to the immense damage and very ignored aspect of mobbing as pertaining to modern society.

I would recommend this book to anyone who cares about their community, children and their own integrity and personal development. If you are in a mob (toxic group or vigilantes) reading this book may wake you up to the way you are being used to attack innocent members of society and just how easy this manipulation is. Unfortunately a lot of people and not mature or honest enough with themselves to wake up to what they have done or are still doing.

"Bullying" is still an appropriate term to describe what is done to the target.

"Mobbing" involves a group of people whose size is constrained by the social setting in which it is formed, such as a workplace. It might seem to the target as if many people are involved but in reality the group might be small. The group members directly interact with a target in an adversarial way that undermines or harms them in measurable, definable ways.

The word mobbing is preferred to bullying in continental Europe and in those situations where a target is selected and bullied (mobbed) by a group of people rather than by one individual. However, every group has a ringleader. If this ringleader is an extrovert it will be obvious who is coercing group members into mobbing the selected target. If the ringleader is an introvert type, he or she is likely to be in the background coercing and manipulating group members into mobbing the selected target; introvert ringleaders are much more dangerous than extrovert ringleaders.

In a mobbing situation, the ringleader incites supporters, cohorts, copycats and unenlightened, inexperienced, immature or emotionally needy individuals with poor values to engage in adversarial interaction with the selected target. The ringleader, or chief bully, gains gratification from encouraging others to engage in adversarial interaction with the target. Many people use the word "mobbing" to describe this pack attack by many on one individual. Once mobbing is underway the chief bully foments the mobbing into mutually assured destruction, from which the chief bully gains intense gratification - this is a feature of people with psychopathic personality.

One aspect of psychopathic bullies is that they home in on Wannabe types - non-psychopathic lesser bullies - and then empower these individuals to gain the positions of power and authority they crave. Once installed, the Wannabe's lack of competence makes them dependent on the chief psychopath, which means they become unwitting but willing compliant puppets. They also make perfect corporate clones and drones. A characteristic of the Wannabe is that as well as lacking all the competencies necessary for their position, they also lack the intellect to understand the nature and manner of their compliant subservience.

Throughout the mobbing experience, the target is deceived into fighting, blaming and trying to hold accountable the minor bullies of the mobbing group rather than the chief bully. The main reason a psychopathic chief bully gets away with his (or her) behaviour repeatedly is that no-one wants to believe that s/he could be the monster s/he is. This is also the reason that many pedophiles and wife-batterers evade accountability and sanction for years, often decades. They appear so charming and plausible to naive, unenlightened and inexperienced people - usually those who haven't experienced bullying themselves. Psychopathic chief bullies are very likely to have everyone in human resources and management in their pocket, who are then manipulated into further mobbing, victimising and persecuting the target.

The golden rule when tackling a mobbing situation is, I believe, to identify and focus exclusively on the chief bully, and concentrate on holding this ringleader accountable. Expect an immediate increase in mobbing activities, and a rapidly-expanding web of deceit to be concocted against you. Alternatively, the best solution may be to make a positive decision to leave and refuse to allow these people to continue to ruin your career, your health and your life. In the unlikely event that the psychopathic chief leader is exposed and then leaves, the dysfunction, aggression and negative feelings fostered by him or her are likely to linger for years.
